Tottenham enter race for Barcelona midfielder Alex Song |
TOTTENHAM have joined the race to sign Barcelona outcast Alex Song.
Spurs are reportedly desperate to sign a combative midfielder this summer, with Southampton's Victor Wanyama at the top of their shortlist.
However, the White Hart Lane club have been forced to look elsewhere as Saints boss Ronald Koeman refuses to sell the 24-year-old.
And according to The Sun, Spurs have now turned their attention to Barca's Alex Song, who played at fierce rivals Arsenal for six years.
The Cameroonian is reportedly also a target for Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham, where he spent last season on loan.
Barca are willing to let the 27-year-old leave on a free this summer, despite him having another two years remaining on his contract.
Spurs are expected to hold talks with Song's representatives before Tuesday's 6pm transfer deadline.
