Tottenham close to capturing £18m South Korean Star
Heung Min Son has scored 11 goals in 44 appearances for South Korea
TOTTENHAM yesterday looked close to the £18m capture of South Korea striker Heung-Min Son from Bayer Leverkusen, throwing doubt over the likelihood of Saidi Berahino heading to White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino has always insisted that despite losing Roberto Soldado and making it clear Emmanuel Adebayor is not in his plans, he is only looking to sign one striker before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
Reporters in Germany were told the 23-year-old Son was out of the squad for the Champions League qualifier against Lazio because he was in London for a medical, and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is understood to have thrashed out an £18m deal which could rise to £21.9m depending on how his career progresses in England.

Spurs had earlier had a £22m bid rejected by West Brom for England Under-21 international Berahino despite the striker handing in a transfer request, and there was a reluctance in north London to go much higher.
Son played a starring role in Leverkusen's progression to the Champions League knockout stages last season and has 11 goals in 44 games for his country. Pochettino is particularly keen to bring fresh blood to the squad having failed to win any of their opening three games
