Roma eye Barcelona's Vermaelen after Arsenal and Chelsea target agrees deal to join Milan
Thomas Vermaelen is thought to be a target for Roma
ROMA are eyeing Barcelona's Thomas Vermaelen as a replacement for AC Milan-bound Alessio Romagnoli, according to reports in Italy.

Romagnoli is reportedly on the verge of a £17million switch from the Italian capital.
The 21-year-old centre-back was thought to be a target for Arsenal and Chelsea but the Serie A giants appear to have won the race for his signature.

And newspaper Corriere dello Sport claim Vermaelen is being lined up to take over.
The former Gunners defender has only been at the Nou Camp for one season, after signing for £15million last summer.

However, injuries restricted him to just 62 minutes in La Liga last term and he could be surplus to requirements given the options available to manager Luis Enrique.
They coped well with the defensive quartet of Javier Mascherano, Gerard Pique, Marc Bartra and Jeremy Mathieu.
Reports suggest Roma would prefer a loan move for the 29-year-old despite bagging a significant sum for Romagnoli.
