Revealed: Liverpool 'in talks' as deal for Brazil international edges closer
Besiktas reveal talks with Liverpool for midfielder Lucas Leiva
BESIKTAS have confirmed they are 'in talks' with Liverpool over a move for midfielder Lucas Leiva.

The Brazil international has reportedly been told he can leave Anfield, having failed to feature in either of Brendan Rodgers' match-day squads this season.
Besiktas were initially keen to land the defensive midfielder on a permanent deal, but their £3.5million offer was someway off Liverpool's £8m valuation.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, the Turkish club are now in negotiations to take the 28-year-old old on a season-long loan.

Lucas is a player on our shortlist, talks are ongoing
Erdal Torunogullari
Besiktas transfer committee head Erdal Torunogullari is quoted as saying by Lig TV: “Lucas is a player on our shortlist, talks are ongoing.”
As well as Lucas, the Reds are understood to be looking to sell strikers Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini and defender Jose Enrique.
Lucas, who has made 24 outings for Brazil, joined Liverpool eight years ago for £5m and has gone on to win the League Cup during the 2011/12 campaign.
