Thomas Muller could be back on Manchester United's radar |
MANCHESTER UNITED are refusing to give up on Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller and are prepared to offer a contract worth £50million, according to reports in Germany.
United were strongly linked earlier in the transfer window but talk of a move appeared to cool after the Germany international snubbed a move.
However, German magazine Kicker, claim they are back in and the 2014 World Cup winner could earn as much as £50m over five years by moving to Old Trafford.
Manager Louis van Gaal is understood to have earmarked the 25-year-old as one of his top transfer targets and is reportedly willing to pay as much as £70m to the Bundesliga giants.
Van Gaal has already raided his former club for midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger but is keen to add more attacking options.
The Dutchman has just three recognised strikers in his squad - Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and youngster James Wilson.
And with the future of Hernandez still unclear, Muller would offer some much-needed firepower to the United attack.
The club have also been linked with Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani, while they are also believed to retain an interest in Tottenham's Harry Kane.
