LIVERPOOL midfielder Lucas is set to open crunch talks with Milan over a transfer, according to reports.
The Brazilian, 28, is understood to be free to leave Anfield this summer after falling out with manager Brendan Rodgers.
And his agent, Kia Joorabchianm, is preparing to fly to Milan and discuss terms ahead of a switch, report Gazzetta dello Sport.
Milan are understood to be keen on landing Lucas on the cheap as new manager Sinisa Mihajlovic seeks to strengthen his side ahead of the new Serie A season.
Lucas, a £5million signing from Gremio, joined Liverpool in 2007 and is also reportedly wanted by West Ham.
It is believed Liverpool would want to at least recoup that investment when selling him on.
Last season Lucas made 32 appearances for the Merseyside club, of which 26 were starts.
But the defensive midfielder was left out of the Reds squad for their trip to Stoke last weekend and didn't even travel with the team amid reports of an argument with Rodgers.
Rodgers has signed just one midfield recruits this summer, replacing skipper Steven Gerrard with free agent James Milner.
Milner started in central midfield alongside new captain Jordan Henderson for the win at Stoke and is expected to play the same role on Monday night, when the Reds host Bournemouth.
As for the Hammers, manager Slaven Bilic is seeking midfield reinforcements after the club withdrew their offer to sign free agent Joey Barton.
