Joachim Low had this to say about Bastian Schweinsteiger's transfer to Manchester United

BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER has shown his ambition by challenging himself at Manchester United, says Joachim Low.

Schweinsteiger, 31, left Bayern Munich for United this summer.

The Germany international and World Cup winner, who had played for Bayern all his career, is one of five summer signings for United boss Louis van Gaal.
He moved after his place in the Bayern team wasn't guaranteed by boss Pep Guardiola.

And Low insists the central midfielder made the correct, if difficult, decision to move to a club challenging for major honours.
"It speaks volumes about his ambition and his character that Bastian hasn't taken the easy road," Low told Germany's national team website.
"There are very few footballers in the world who can control a game like he does."

Schweinsteiger came on as a second-half substitute in United's Premier League opening-day victory over Tottenham on Saturday.
"It was amazing, really," the player told MUTV. "I was surprised and I have to say 'thank you' to all the supporters.

"It was a great feeling and yes, at the end, we won so it was a good day for us.
"I’d played twice before in the Champions League but this was something new on Saturday.
"The support is huge; I knew that before I came here and saw it in the USA as we had a lot of supporters there too. It was great and a special day for me on Saturday."
