Jonny Evans admits Darren Fletcher influenced his West Brom move

WEST BROM new boy Jonny Evans has opened up on his move from Manchester United.

 

The Northern Ireland international joined Albion yesterday on a four-year deal, costing an initial £6million and another £2m with add-ons.

And Evans admits former United team-mate Darren Fletcher was a huge influence on his decision to swap life at Old Trafford for The Hawthorns.

Fletcher ended his 20-year association with the Red Devils in February after joining the Baggies on a free transfer.

"I spoke to Fletch regularly," Evans told the club’s official website.

"I rang him just after he had made the move here from United (in February) and he said how much he was enjoying his football.

"When West Brom came in for me, it definitely had an influence on me. I was able to speak to Fletch quite a few times and he assured me he was still enjoying it."
