Hollyoaks actress Carley Stenson: I think it’s nice to give your skin a rest sometimes
I used to dance all the time and even now that I don’t dance regularly, I wouldn’t diet
ACTRESS Carley Stenson, 32, reveals her fashion and beauty secrets.

Which beauty products do you swear by?
I love Dermalogica Sheer Moisture SPF 15, because it evens out my skin tone. I always carry Phil Smith Firm Hold Hairspray with me, too, and I love The Body Shop. They have beautiful creams that smell really fresh.
What’s your best beauty tip?
Less is more. I think it’s nice to give your skin a rest sometimes.
You have to get the balance between eating healthily and exercising

Which women do you consider beautiful?
Charlize Theron and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Channing Tatum’s wife – they’re both naturally gorgeous women who prove that simplicity is best.
What’s your signature fragrance?
I love Jo Malone perfumes. I absolutely adore Pomegranate Noir for an evening out but during the day I prefer lighter scents or body creams, like the ones from The Body Shop.
How do you pamper yourself?
I’ll have a bath with lots of lovely-smelling salts and bubbles – the works! I love going for a manicure and pedicure, too, and having my hair done is always a treat. When I lived in Liverpool, I used to be a regular at The Powder Room – they’d have the champers ready for me as they made me up. I loved it.

Do you diet?
No. I used to dance all the time and even now that I don’t dance regularly, I wouldn’t diet. I believe in a balance that includes exercise and eating well. Life’s too short to not eat chocolate, isn’t it?
How do you stay in shape?
Running around on stage in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is keeping me fit. I don’t go to the gym a lot. I’d rather follow exercise videos from YouTube.
If you could change one part of your body, what would it be?
I’d love to have Jessica Alba’s washboard stomach. Achieving it was easier when I was dancing and walking everywhere. Then I got my driver’s licence!
Would you ever consider plastic surgery?
It’s not a quick fix. You have to get the balance between eating healthily and exercising.
How would you describe your style?
Laid back, comfortable and quirky, but elegant. Nowthat I’m getting that bit older, I don’t want to be the dolly in her high heels and miniskirt any more. I’ve done that!
Do you have a favourite shop or designer?
I love Oasis and little one-off boutiques and vintage shops. But with my next pay cheque, I’d like some Louboutin shoes.
