England regain the Ashes with stunning innings and 78 run victory over Australia
England have regained the Ashes
ENGLAND needed just 40 minutes to sweep aside Australia's last men standing and seal a unassailable 3-1 lead.

Australia started the day on 241-7, trailing by 90, and they got off to the worse possible start as Ben Stokes took his sixth wicket with an out-swinger to Mitchell Starc who edged to Ian Bell at second slip.

Mark Wood got his second scalp of the innings, taking out the middle stump of Josh Hazlewood.

Adam Voges reached his half-century but England sealed their fourth successive home Ashes victory when Wood clean bowled Nathan Lyon.
A dismal Ashes campaign for Australia has been compounded with captain Michael Clarke announcing his retirement from Test cricket at the end of this series.

Clarke struggled for runs throughout the series and after the Trent Bridge crowds chanted 'you're getting sacked in the morning' at him last night, it appears they were correct.
Ex-Australia bowler Glenn McGrath told BBC Test Match Special: "Michael Clarke will go on his own terms. He is a strong character.
"He wanted to try and win the Ashes for the first time in England in his career but that is not going to happen."
