Elder Scrolls Online PS4 and Xbox One: Tamriel Unlimited server issues ahead of new update
The PS4 patch is now out for Elder Scrolls Online
ELDER Scrolls Online for PS4 and Xbox One launched earlier this month but some players had to wait a little longer to start their adventures, while a new patch to resolve those earlier problems has now been released.

UPDATE: Players are reporting further issues with logging into the Elder Scrolls Online, this time in North America.
The EU megaserver was hit by issues earlier today that saw the game offline due to internal problems and issues with the PSN in general.
A message from the Zenimax support team confirmed: "Login issues with the PlayStation 4 EU megaserver have been resolved.
"Please reboot your console and log in again; thanks for your patience!"
But having solved that issue, fans on the other side of the pond are now reporting problems accessing the game via the login screen.
One fan wrote: "Its down for me , everyone froze in our PvP group, we couldnt move then i got booted. seems like others did as well."
It is currently unclear how widespread the problem is, although the Express can confirm that prior issues appear to have been cleared up on the Xbox One.
UPDATE the Zenimax support team say they are currently investigating problems connected with users being unable to login into the PlayStation EU megaserver.
The PlayStation Network has been hit by fresh problems today, affecting signing in and other key features.
However, it seems the Elder Scrolls Online may also have seperate issues affecting European players as well.
One fan explained: "The servers finally popped back up, except the EU ESO server hasn't. I switched to the NA server to banter about while I wait.
"I had to make a new character. It's annoying, not because I have to start a-new, I was planning to create a new character anyway, but annoying because I'm not going to play on this server when EU is back up and this is all going to nothing and stopping me from progressing."
A message from the support team on Twitter reads: "We're currently investigating the login issues on the PlayStation 4 EU megaserver.
"Thank you for your patience."
MFL...
UPDATE: Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited for Xbox One users in Europe has been taken offline by Zenimax and looks set to be down for the next couple of hours.
The server went offline at around 2:20pm and was scheduled due to a new error that was affecting select players when they tried to log in to the game.
"The Xbox One European megaserver is currently offline for maintenance," a message from the Zenimax support team reads.
"Maintenance is ongoing for the Xbox One EU megaserver. While we don't have an exact ETA at this time, you should expect maintenance to last at least a couple hours.
"We'll let you know as soon as we have any updates to share."
UPDATE: Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited users on the Xbox One are reporting issues playing the game ahead of the announced downtime scheduled for later today.
At 8AM EDT on Tuesday June 30, Zenimax have confirmed they will be bringing down the Xbox One North American megaserver for a reboot to address reported disconnect/connection issues for some players and characters.
It's estimated that the service outage will run for two hours or less.
Players in the US and Canada have reported receiving a "Unable to connect to server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection." error messages at the character load screen but have had no prior problems with their internet connections.
Zenimax has apologised to fans and say the problems experience by some users is connected with their character types.
A Zenimax statement on the subject reads: "We have identified the issue reported . As some have mentioned, it is only certain characters in most cases. (Some players have reported being able to log into other characters on their account.)
"To fully resolve this issue, we need to perform a megaserver reboot. We have the reboot maintenance scheduled for tomorrow morning (6/30) at 8AM EDT. We sincerely apologize to those of you who are impacted."

UPDATE: Having seen a surge in Xbox One users reporting problems connecting to Elder Scrolls Online in the EU, Zenimax has announced that the region's megaserver is set to be taken offline for several hours.
A statement from the support team reads: "We will be bringing the Xbox One European Megaserver offline today at 1:00PM EDT/18:00 BST for maintenance, which we expect to last approximately a couple hours.
"We'll let you know as soon as the maintenance is complete and you can log back on."
It follows the a report from the team that they were investigating a spike in connections problems earlier today.
"We're currently investigating reports of connectivity issues on the #ESOTU Xbox One EU megaserver," the message posted on Twitter reads.
UPDATE: Having launched a PS4 update today that is over 15GB and includes patches 01.01 - 01.03, the ESO team have also provided a guide on those experiencing slow download times.
"This can happen when there is a high volume of traffic on the servers. Therefore, we recommend players to try to download in off peak times, for example launch the download before going to bed, or early in the morning," the download guide from the ESO team explains.
"Additionally, launching the download and putting the PS4 in sleep mode should ease the strain on the machine.
UPDATE: Elder Scrolls Online for PlayStation 4 is now back online following scheduled maintenance to introduce a new patch.
The patch maintenance has been completed, the ESO support team have confirmed, with both the NA and EU megaservers now available to use.
Today’s PS4 patch size is a whoppping 15.9GB download and includes patches 01.01 - 01.03.
Details on what has changed in Tamriel Unlimited in the PlayStation 4 01.04 patch can be found here.
Improvements have been made to overall in-game performance, including the queueing system screen and some of the more common in-game crashes.
The invisible NPCs bug that has caused problems for many fans has started to be tackled, although the developers say that it is still an ongoing work in progress.
Improvements include:
  • The quest tracker will now properly refresh after accessing the world map from the quest journal, than selecting a new active quest from a world map pin.
  • Removed a duplicate “Resend Confirmation" screen when confirming your account during login.
  • The leaderboard icon is no longer missing from the leaderboard notifications.
  • You will no longer lose functionality from the left analog stick after choosing Destroy and Back simultaneously on an inventory item.
  • The text explaining that you do not have enough crowns to purchase an item will no longer lock your controls after a tutorial popup occurs.
  • Fixed an issue where the video at the beginning of the game would not play smoothly
  • Fixed an issue where your game could crash while on a mount.

ORIGINAL: The patch for the PlayStation 4 megaservers will be released after Wednesday's downtime at 11am BST and is set to include a wide ranges of fixes for outstanding issues.
One bug that is set to be fixed by tommorw's patch is NPCs going invisible for some players.
This can prevent interaction with them and hinder progress in the game. It is often caused by an issue with the phase that the player character is currently in.
However, as with the Xbox One update that was rolled out today, the NPC glitch will probably not go away entirely and may need a further patch to be 100 per cent nerfed.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited v1.0.0.5 is set to include improved queue system screens and fixes to other common in-game crashes.
ORIGINAL: Having taken the Xbox One megaserver offline to introduce a new patch, the Elder Scrolls Online support team have confirmed the game is now accessible to play.
"Both Xbox One megaservers are back online now. You can download the patch by logging off and logging back in to your game client," a post from the ESO team confirmed.
"Please try restarting your console .This should download the patch automatically."
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited v1.0.0.5 is the first patch for Xbox One and looks to fix a range of issues that have plagued the game since its launch earlier this month.
In addition to improving overall in-game performance, the queue system screen has been revamped and some of the more common in-game crashes have also been addressed.
"We have also reduced the frequency in which you’ll run into invisible NPCs, though note that this is an ongoing work in progress," a notice from Zenimax reads.
Fixes include: Decreased the frequency at which you’ll run into invisible NPCs and ensures they will appear if you do run into the problem.
This is an ongoing work in progress, and you may still run into an invisible NPC occasionally. If this occurs, please wait and the NPC should appear within 30 seconds.
The full list of changes can be found here.
The same patch is also planned for the PS4 and is set to be launched in North America and Europe on June 24 at 11am, UK time.
UPDATE: Players will have their chance to quiz the ESOTU team on anything they like later this week regarding game on Xbox One and PS4.
June 11 will see a special console-focused  AMA session on the Xbox One subreddit, from 6pm to 8pm UK time.
An official message from the ESO support team reads: "Please join us tomorrow for a special console-focused Reddit AMA with members of the ESOTU Team! You can find us on the Xbox One subreddit from 1:00-3:00PM EDT.
"Look forward to seeing everyone there!
Elder Scrolls Online is set to get a new patch on PC but there is yet to be any word for one coming to the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
"We plan on having our next incremental patch for PC and Mac next Monday," a post from the ESO support revealed today.
It was in response to PC gamers who have found their games to be less stable in recent weeks.
Console players, meanwhile have been given a quick guide on what to do if you are an ESO Plus customer who hasn't received the Crowns that are supposed to be included with the game.
"After purchasing an ESO Plus membership on console, players should be aware that there can be a delay of up to a day in the included crowns being applied to their account," the ESO message reads.
"In some cases, rebooting the console can trigger the correct amount of crowns to appear.
Players who have waited longer than a day since purchasing ESO Plus on console and have not received the crowns included with the membership should contact our Customer Support team.

UPDATE: A new message from the Elder Scrolls Online dev team has given an update on the cause of the log in failures that occurred earlier today, putting it down to a server surge cause by the amount of people trying to access the game at the sametime late last night.
The message reads: We did identify the root cause of this issue (basically, we just had a bunch of people hitting the server all at once!) and there should be minimal login issues at this time.
If you continue to experience a problem logging in, please keep trying and you will eventually get in. Thanks again for your patience last night and this morning!
Servers went live earlier this morning, following a big build up from Bethesda on the release of the MMO game on the new-gen consoles.
However, some fans were left waiting to join the action after receiving "an unexpected internal error" message when trying to start Elder Scrolls Online.
The Express can confirm that the problems reported in the United States look to have been resolved, with server access now possible on the Xbox One.
A message from the team regarding the issues reads: "Hey everyone. If you have been experiencing login errors, we ask that you please try to log into the console megaservers again. While we are continuing to work on resolving the issue, we have found that the issue has been fixed for some players at this point.
"We will continue to work on this until it's resolved for all players, and we'll provide an update when we can. Thank you again for your patience throughout the night."
Some fans are still reporting issues connected with playing the game via the PSN.
One user wrote at 3pm UK time: "Still can't log in on the PS4 NA server. Not the happiest right now.
While another added: "Same here, still not been sent a new verification email, would like to try and play the game now."
Problems logging into European servers hit last night, with maintenance now complete, and European PS4 megaserver confirmed to be back online and available.
