DAVID DE GEA declared himself ready to play for Manchester United against Tottenham on the opening day of the Premier League season and is unhappy at being left out by Louis van Gaal, according to reports.

It is thought the Spaniard still wants to be considered despite intense speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford.
The Daily Mail claim De Gea asked to be selected last Saturday but United manager Van Gaal accused the goalkeeper of lacking focus.
David de Gea cut a frustrating figure as he was not selected for Manchester United on Saturday |
Reports suggest sources close to the United stopper believe he trained well before the game and was extremely disappointed to have been overlooked.
New signing Sergio Romero was preferred and Van Gaal has made it clear he will not even entertain the idea of recalling last season's star man until his future is sorted.
The 24-year-old is now facing some time in the wilderness but could be restored if he remains with the club once the transfer window has shut.
"We have observed him in preparation and it was not the same David de Gea as last year," Van Gaal said.
"Of course when the situation has been cleared after September 1 we will look again. But I'm happy Sergio [Romero] did well. He saved us twice."
Despite Romero's encouraging debut, Van Gaal is still considering three new signings, including Ajax stopper Jasper Cillessen, 26.
