Many celebrities have paid their tributes after Cilla Black died last night aged 72

THE world of showbiz is in mourning today, after Cilla Black died at her home in Spain last night aged 72.
 
Countless stars posted tributes on Twitter today, following the death of on of the nation's most loved stars.
 
Cilla enjoyed a varied career which spanned over 50 years, during which she had success as a singer and a TV presenter.
 
Writing on Twitter, Carol Vorderman thanked the Liverpudlian for all "the laughs".
She said: "Deeply shocked to learn that Cilla has passed away," she tweeted. "I hope you are now at peace lovely lady. Thank you for the lunches and the laughs."
 
Holly Willoughby – who presents the current revamp of Cilla's show Surprise Surprise – also paid tribute to the "incredible lady".
Posting a picture of herself alongside Cilla, she said: "So so sad to hear the news that we have lost one of my heroes, Cilla you were one incredible lady! Sending all my love to her family. X"
Holly added: "This photo is even more special to me now."
"I am so sad and shocked by news about my good friend Cilla. She was a resplendent and rare talent. RIP," added Joan Collins.
SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon shared her earliest memory of the pop star.
"My earliest memory of having a tantrum was over Cilla. I wanted her album. My mum and dad said no - my grandad said yes. I was 4. #ripcilla," she wrote.
 
Acting leader of the Labour party, Harriet Harman added: "An icon of her era. Her unique voice will live on. RIP Cilla Black. Thoughts with her family & friends."
"Saddened to hear about the passing of Cilla Black. A true showbiz legend," said Ronan Keating.
Piers Morgan called Cilla a "national treasure", adding "Loved interviewing Cilla for Life Stories. Great life, great talent, great star. Now reunited with her Bobby."
Strictly Come Dancing champion Caroline Flack said Cilla had inspired her own showbiz career.
She tweeted: "Very sad news about Cilla Black. She was an inspiration to me growing up. x"
Meanwhile, Band Aid co-writer and former Ultravox singer Midge Ure said: "Very saddened to hear about Cilla Black."
