IT MIGHT have been 15 years since the death of her husband Bobby Willis, but it seems as though the grief is still very much alive for Cilla Black.
The TV presenter, who married the songwriter in 1969, broke down on ITV's Loose Women yesterday morning, after speaking about the lifetime achievement BAFTA she is set to be given later this month.
Talking about the coveted award, the former Blind Date host confessed that it will be a "bitter sweet" moment because Mr Willis, who died of cancer in 1999, couldn't share it with her.
Fighting back tears, the 70-year-old looked overwhelmed with emotion after panellist Jane Moore said: "You must want to be able to say, 'Bobby, look what I’ve got, look what we got together.'"
While acting as her manager, Bobby also wrote some of her biggest hits in the sixties.
Jane then held the veteran star's hands before producers cut to a commercial break.
Liverpudlian Cilla is set to be recognised for her vast contribution to the entertainment industry later this month by being awarded with the special award later this month.
She follows previous recipients such as Simon Cowell, Jon Snow, Murray Walker and Jeremy Paxman.
Speaking about the appreciation, Ms Black, who first hosted her own BBC show in 1968, said: "I am thrilled to be honoured with this award - I am totally delighted. I've been very fortunate to have a long and full career in television and this means the world to me."
She will collect the prize at the event - officially called the Arqiva British Academy Television Awards - on May 18 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, in London and it will also be broadcast by BBC1.
