BARNSLEY will receive a significant sell-on fee should John Stones be sold by Everton this summer.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a £40million move to Chelsea, with Manchester United also reportedly interested.
And should the deal go ahead, the League One side will pocket £6m thanks to a 15 per cent sell-on clause in his contract.
The centre-back left the Yorkshire club for just £3m two years ago, and his pedigree has since rocketed after moving to the Premier League.
The Toffees have already turned down three bids for the England international from the Blues, believed to be around the £30m mark.
However, Jose Mourinho is expected to return with a renewed offer close to £40m that could set a new record transfer for an English defender.
The defending champions have had a stuttering start to the new season with John Terry's position in the starting XI coming into question, and Stones is being touted as his possible long-term successor.
