Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger refuses to rule out late move for "exceptional" new signing
Arsene Wenger admits he could move for an exceptional player
ARSENE WENGER has refused to rule out an "exceptional" signing this month.

The Arsenal boss is eyeing a Premier League title challenge after finishing third last season and winning back-to-back FA Cups.

And, Wenger speaking ahead of the Gunners Premier League opener with West Ham on Sunday (1.30pm), is open to the idea of late splurge -- if the right man is available.

In 2013 he swooped for Mesut Ozil on the final day of the transfer window, and recent reports have linked him with a late move for Karim Benzema.
And Wenger admits, with his current crop reduced by injury, he could do with another addition in attack.
"At the moment we do not have Sanchez, not Welbeck, and when these players come back we feel that we have the needed striking force," Wenger said.
"But we don't rule out as well if something exceptional turns up to do it."

Arsenal's addition of Petr Cech, in a £10million deal from rivals Chelsea, has given them a more resolute feel.
That was displayed in last weekend's victory over Jose Mourinho's side in the Community Shield - Wenger's first win over the Portuguese in 14 games.
And Wenger is keen to start the season well after a stuttering opening last term.

"I'm motivated to start well," he added. "One of our targets is to start strong, we've had good preparation and that should give us needed confidence.
"The Premier League is a fight in every single game so we have to prepare ourselves mentally for that and come out of the blocks straight away against West Ham. Every game of pre-season went well... I cannot remember much better (preparation).
"We won the cup last year, we finished third in the league so our target is very high. We want to win the Premier League."
