'Angry' and 'Hungry' Manchester City keen to maintain title-winning form against Everton
Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City players are keen to maintain their blistering form
AN "angry" Manchester City arrive in the blue half of Merseyside today determined to continue their blistering start to the season.

City after two thumping 3-0 wins against West Brom and Chelsea have been installed as the bookies' favourites to land the title.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini isn't surprised at his side's turbo charged opening. He revealed: "I was very happy with the pre-season. After that winning the first game was not a surprise because I watched the way the players worked every day during the pre-season.

"They were angry at what happened last season and hungry to win titles again. So I think you have seen the players play the way they can do and the important thing is now to continue in the same way."
That, he insists will involve another attacking philosophy at Everton - one which has been Pellegrini's DNA since his arrival from Spain.
He added: "In my first season it was the squad that scored more goals in history in England in all competitions. We just missed the Premier League record by one goal.

"Last season we didn't win the title but were again the squad that scored most goals. Someone asked me if we should change our style this season but we will continue playing the same way. "
This afternoon at Goodison Park will be a big examination of £49 million Raheem Sterling's temperament as City look to equal a club record.
Pellegrini's side have won eight league games in a row. Their best ever return was nine straight league victories back in 1912.

Already a target for the boo boys due to his controversial move to City the decibel level surrounding Sterling will be heightened by his Liverpool connections.
Pellegrini insists the England forward will be able to handle the flak stating: "I think all this for Raheem will just motivate him. In Everton's stadium he always received boos and I think it will be exactly the same. He knows what happens and I don't think it will affect him."
Told that Manchester United's former boss Sir Alex Ferguson would often leave Wayne Rooney out of games at Goodison Park Pellegrini quickly retorted: "I want to the game so I won't do that."
