Manchester United striker target set for scan on injured hamstring
Romelu Lukaku holds his hamstring after coming off in Everton's pre-season friendly
ROMELU LUKAKU has given Everton a huge pre-season scare after picking up a hamstring injury.

Lukaku has been linked with a move to Manchester United after admitting his intention to play for a 'top club'.
But the Belgium international may not be on the move this summer at least after limping out of Everton's friendly win over Dundee last night.

Lukaku was taken off just half-an-hour into the 2-0 victory in Scotland, clutching his left hamstring.

The 22-year-old will reportedly have a scan on his hamstring amid concerns he could miss Everton's Premier League opener against Watford on August 8.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez said: "Rom has been playing a lot of minutes and after the first 25 minutes he was feeling his legs being a little too heavy so we didn't want to take any risks.

"It is not a problem at all. He got a lot of good work in the two games we had up here and in Singapore.

"We have a little period before the weekend to make sure he is ready and refreshed and in a way with good volume without being over-worked. It was part of the exercise."
