Winona Ryder confirms Beetlejuice sequel after 25 years and she hasn't changed a bit
Eternally baby faced: Winona Ryder in 1988 and now
BEETLEJUICE 2 is in production with Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton and Tim Burton all back on board for the sequel.

The actress told US chat show host Seth Meyers the news that fans have been waiting 25 years to hear.
“I think I can confirm it,” Ryder said.

“It was very hush-hush, top secret... But then [Tim Burton] was doing some press for Big Eyes and and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah, we’re doing it, and Winona’s going to be in it.’
"If he said it, I can say it.”

Ryder, herself, looked incredible in the interview. At 43 she hardly seems to have changed since she played Lydia Deetz back in 1988, aged 17.

The actress told Meyers about her joy and amazement that the film still resonates with fans after so many years.

She revealed that she's even been stopped from going through airport security until she says the film's signature catch-phrase "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice," even though she jokes that she still believes that it is bad luck to do so.

"Obviously it's better than being strip-searched or tazered," she laughed.
The actress has had her troubles with the law in the past, including accusations of shoplifting, but has quietly rebuilt her career and kept her head down. Fellow wild child Lindsay Lohan s taking the opposite path with the revelation that she is writing a tell-all memoir about her outrageous past.

Burton has already confirmed that he is working on a script for the Beetlejuice sequel and that the film is inconceivable without the return of Birdman star Michael Keaton as the menacing central character Betelgeuse (pronounced Beetlejuice).

“There’s only one Betelgeuse, and that’s Michael,” the director said.

“There is a script, and I would love to work with him again. I think there is now a better chance than ever.

"I miss that character.”
No word yet on whether Geena Davies and Alec Baldwin will also be returning to reprise their roles as the hapless ghosts who seek Betelgeuse's help to rid their house of pesky humans.
