POLICE are hunting the drone pilot responsible for an electricity blackout across West Hollywood, California this week.</div>

The drone crashed into a power line on Monday night – knocking it to the ground and causing a local blackout.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
More than 650 people lost access to electricity for three hours thanks to the drone crash, the BBC reports.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The drone, or quadcopter, was being used to film a car driving down the street for a reality television show, one eye witness recalled.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The incident took place just weeks after Los Angeles City Council brought in tougher laws on the use of personal drones.</div>

Speaking to ABC News, one eye witness described the drone crash: "All of the sudden [I saw] a flash – like a boom.</div>

"And then sparks and you could see the drone dropping to the ground."</div>

Chris Gordon said: "It landed right over here in the middle of the intersection and cars were actually driving around the drone and it was smoking in the middle of the street."</div>
