NICK POWELL has revealed he left Manchester United and joined Hull City on deadline day because he wants to play football again.
Powell moved to the KC stadium on loan until the end of the season yesterday after playing twice for Louis van Gaal's side this term.
United paid £3million for Powell in 2012 but he has struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford.
And the midfielder admitted he is hoping he can kick-start his career in the Championship over the next few months.
“I’m excited about the next few months,” Powell told Hull City's website.
“I spoke to the gaffer here and the ambition for this club is good. I’m looking forward to being a part of that and to getting some game time.
“The manager here told me about how good the atmosphere is amongst the lads. We’re at the top of the league and, wherever you are playing, you want to be at the top of the league. Moving here was a win-win situation really.
“I’m happy that Steve Bruce came in and offered me the game time that I need. I haven’t played for a long time but now I’m hoping to get more games and play football again.”
