AARON RAMSEY hailed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his contribution in Arsenal's victory over potentially tricky opponents Bournemouth.
Arsene Wenger's side headed into the game desperate for all three points to maintain ground on top spot and a 2-0 win meant they moved back within five points of Leicester.
Mesut Ozil opened the scoring after the talismanic German latched onto a knock down from Olivier Giroud to rifle the ball into the net after 23 minutes.
The playmaker netted in the reverse fixture back in December, which was also a 2-0 triumph, and Oxlade-Chamberlain capitalised on a rocked Cherries team to double the lead.
Ramsey fed the ball wide to Oxlade-Chamberlain who from a tight angle smashed the ball across keeper Artur Boruc into the far corner as the ball cannoned in off the post.
The Gunners held onto their lead despite pressure from the hosts on the south coast, and Ramsey showed his delight at Oxlade-Chamberlain netting his first league goal of the campaign.
"The game was won in the first half really," Ramsey said. "The boys responded really well and we go back to winning ways. Hopefully we can keep this run going now.
"I am pleased for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It was a good performance from him today and hopefully he can keep up the form."
Gunners team-mate Mathieu Flamini is already looking ahead to Arsenal's next crucial game at home to league leaders Leicester on Sunday in a real title decider.
Flamini added: "It was a good team effort. I am very happy for the team. We have a tough game next week against Leicester and we have to win it."
