The internet giant has marked the special occasion with one of it's trademark Doodles of which it's renowned for.
Born on January 12, 1628 in Paris, Perrault was initially a lawyer before choosing to instead turn his talent to writing.
Perrault's book was awash with modern-day classics

The Frenchman is behind many famous fairy tales that we know today – and at the age of 67 after losing his job, Perrault penned a book called Histories ou Contes du Temps Passe (Tales and Stories of the Past With Morals), featuring the famous subtitle "Tales of Mother Goose".
Perrault's book was awash with modern-day classics, such as: La belle au bois dormant (The Sleeping Beauty), La petit chaperon rouge (Little Red Riding Hood), Le Maistre Chat, ou le Chat Botte (Puss in Boots) and Cendrillon, ou la petite pantoufle de verre (Cinderella).

Much of Perrault's early work has been remade – meaning they've lost much of their grizzly , dark detail. In his version of Little Red Riding Hood for example, the "wolf" was actually a man who preyed on young girls who roamed the woods alone.
