WATFORD are reportedly interested in signing Jerome Sinclair from Liverpool in January.
His contract at Anfield expires in the summer and talks to extend his current deal have stalled.
Manchester City were linked with a potential move for Sinclair but the Daily Telegraph report that Watford are now favourites to bring the young striker to Vicarage Road in this transfer window.
Watford’s front pair, Odion Igahlo and Troy Deeney, have been prolific for the Hornets in their first season back in the Premier League, scoring 20 goals between them, but Quique Flores is keen to strengthen his forward line.
Sinclair became Liverpool’s youngest ever player in September 2012, aged 16 years and six days old, in a League Cup tie ay West Brom.
His youth career started with the Baggies before he moved to Merseyside in 2011 and he’s been selected for England’s Under-16 and Under 17 squads.
Wigan signed Sinclair on loan last season but he made just one eight-minute appearance in the Championship last March.
