ADNAN JANUZAJ and Will Keane scored two each for Manchester United's under-21s to give Louis van Gaal a timely reminder of their talents.
The duo helped the strong United side beat Southampton 4-0 at Leigh Sports Village.
Januzaj and Keane both returned from loan spells this month to help add to Van Gaal's options up front.
United have often looked in disarray going forward this season, scoring just 28 goals in 22 games - fewer than seven of the top 11 in the Premier League.
Januzaj and Keane both struggled at Borussia Dortmund and Preston respectively - but were called back with James Wilson being allowed to stay at Brighton.
Keane was named on the bench for United's win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup but Januzaj has been deemed unfit to be involved so far.
Van Gaal admitted he was disappointed with the spell in Germany for the Belgium international but tonight may be evidence of a return to form.
He scored the opener, a low shot through a crowded penalty area in the bottom corner.
Keane then got on the end of Guillermo Varela's cross to double the lead.
Keane scored again from the spot after Januzaj was fouled by Saints defender Jack Stephens.
Januzaj then wrapped up the result with another low shot from just inside the penalty area.
The United side included Sergio Romero, Varela, Paddy McNair and Andreas Pereira.
Van Gaal had hinted at a return for Januzaj last week ahead of the Liverpool clash but he didn't make the squad.
United face Southampton next weekend.
