United are apparently eyeing the Blues winger after being told they have no chance of landing Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale.
The Daily Star report United's owners the Glazer family have given executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward the go-ahead to try and land £65million-rated Hazard on a deal worth £250,000-a-week.
A United source said: "Eden Hazard is certainly one of those and the type of player United need if they want to start winning trophies again."
The Sun claim the Blues are still tracking Oxlade-Chamberlain, who emerged as a target under old boss Jose Mourinho.
But when asked if claims the England international could leave were rubbish, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said: "Yes."
Aubameyang was last night named the African Player of the Year at an awards ceremony in Nigeria.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with January moves for the 26-year-old, who has scored 24 goals in 23 appearances for Dortmund this season.
But Aubameyang said: "I don't want to go to Arsenal. I won't leave Dortmund soon."
