Real Madrid prepare £30m deal for Manchester United star
Real Madrid are set to test Manchester United’s resolve to keep David De Gea this summer, according to reports.
The Spanish giants had agreed a deal for the goalkeeper last summer but it fell through at the last minute with Madrid blaming United for botching the paperwork.
But now the Sunday People are reporting that having had their transfer ban suspended pending an appeal, De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes has been told Real will make a £23million bid this summer.
The deal will also include a £6.5m signing-on fee for the Spaniard to ‘apologise’ for the transfer not going through in 2015.
And while Louis van Gaal will be desperate to hang on to one of his greatest assets, a return to the city where he began his career with Atletico may be too much for the 25-year-old to resist.
Cahill considers Chelsea future after Miazga signing
Gary Cahill’s future at Chelsea is in serious doubt after Guus Hiddink admitted new signing Matt Miazga would be ‘a squad player’.
Cahill has struggled to establish himself ahead of either John Terry or Kurt Zouma since the Dutchman took over.
And with the prospect of his opportunities being further limited by 20-year-old Miazga, News News Blog Sport understands Cahill’s long-term future is under threat.
But his manager has denied any claims the defender will be leaving Stamford Bridge.
"Gary is of big value and will prove that in the upcoming time," Hiddink said.
"If players are not playing frequently, they must get frustrated.
"I spoke to him a few days ago about the situation, which I like to do always with my key players.
“He's not to be considered second choice. He's of big importance and will be, with the multitude of games coming up.”
Arsenal could score £15.2m deal for Inter midfielder
Marcelo Brozovic could be available for £15.2m if Arsenal can agree a deal with his two clubs, according to reports in Italy.
Despite the signing of Mohamed Elneny earlier this month, Arsene Wenger is understood to want to add more depth to his midfield for both short- and long-term purposes.
And with Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini having completed the signing of Eder this month, Arsenal are hoping they can secure a deal for Brozovic.
But given that the Croatian midfielder is on loan from Dinamo Zagreb the Gunners will need to get the agreement of both clubs in order to get a deal done, which may prove too complicated with less than two days left until the transfer deadline.
