In the trailer we see Magda going in to see a doctor after she finds a lump in her breast.
The radiant actress casts aside vanity and modesty as she exposes not only her body, but her raw emotions as she faces her worst fear.
"I don't know what to say to my son," she cries.
In fact, the title of the film, Ma Ma, plays on both the word for mother and the word for breasts.

The film is also a celebration of family, of the bonds between parents and their children.
On the same day that Magda recives her diagnosis, Arturo, a talent scout is watching her son's football match.
Suddenly he hears the tragic news that a car accident has killed his daughter and left his wife in a coma. Magda steps in and rushes him to the hospital
The fact the film is as much about motherhood as it is about illness is reinforced as Magda and Arturo find strength in each other.
