NEWCASTLE look set to launch an £18million bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, according to reports.

Newcastle plan £18million swoop for Chelsea and Tottenham target
Saido Berahino could leave West Brom this month

Berahino's first-team chances at the Hawthorns have been limited this season after a move to Tottenham fell through in the summer.
And Baggies boss Tony Pulis is apparently prepared to let the striker leave this month, as he wants to reinvest the transfer fee into his squad.

But the Daily Mail claim Newcastle are now in pole position to sign the unsettled striker and will formalise their interest in the next few days.
Newcastle boss Steve McClaren is desperate to bolster his forward line ahead of the transfer deadline as the Magpies look to move away from the bottom of the Premier League table.
McClaren has already signed Jonjo Shelvey from Swansea and Senegal midfielder Henri Saivet from Bordeaux.
The club are long-term admirers of Berahino, and considered making a move for the striker even before McClaren arrived in the summer.
