TOTTENHAM have their best chance this year to lift the Premier League title.

Martin Keown: Why this year is Tottenham's best chance to win the title
Mauricio Pochettino's men are in the mix for the title

That is the surprising verdict of Arsenal legend Martin Keown.
The Gunners currently top the table at the halfway stage, but their north London rivals are in the picture too, just four points off the pace in fourth spot.
Spurs face a potentially tricky trip to Everton on Sunday (4pm), but go into the game in high spirits on the back of a 2-1 win against high flyers Watford on Monday.

And Keown, who tasted title success during his decorated spell at Arsenal, thinks it is fair to discuss Mauricio Pochettino's men as title contenders.
"I think what is remarkable is how Spurs have managed to take the Thursday night games in their stride this season, and not let it affect their Premier League form," Keown told the Daily Mail.
"It’ll be very interesting to see if they can keep this up when the competition starts again in February.

Martin Keown: Why this year is Tottenham's best chance to win the title
Arsene Wenger's men are searching for their first Premier League title in 11 years

"For most players, Thursday night is a traditional time for relaxation – but Tottenham’s players have had to watch the teams in the Champions League (the competition they strive for) and then again on Saturday before they play on Sunday.
"It’s not easy watching your rivals get good results on a Saturday if you’re playing on a Sunday, but so far Tottenham have matched them.

"People say that this year is Arsenal’s best chance to win the title, but it’s also Tottenham’s – particularly as they’re about to build their new stadium.
"It’s a big strain on a club’s resources – you only have to look at Arsenal’s lean decade since leaving Highbury to see that."
