MANCHESTER UNITED have made an approach for Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc.
United boss Louis van Gaal's future came under intense scrutiny at the start of year after a eight games without a win.
A 2-1 win over Swansea last weekend eased the pressure on the Dutchman but Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have both been linked with the job at Old Trafford.
But according to French website Le10 Sport, United made an enquiry about Blanc's availability to take over mid-season or at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
Blanc, who played for United between 2001 and 2003, has been manager of PSG since 2013, winning the Ligue 1 title and French League Cup twice and the French Cup once.
The report suggests joining United is "appealing" to the French coach but he is also keen on extending his contract with Paris.
In December, PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated his happiness with Blanc and their desire to find an agreement over a new deal.
