MANCHESTER CITY are considering a surprise move for Ander Herrera, according to reports.
Herrera has become the forgotten man at Manchester United and has struggled to hold down a regular first team spot.
The 26-year-old, who joined United for £29million in 2014, was thought to be planning crunch talks with Louis van Gaal over his long-term future at the club.
City meanwhile, planning a managerial shake-up in the summer and they are widely fancied to appoint Pep Guardiola should Manuel Pellegrini be axed in the summer.
Spanish publication Don Balon claim City will make a concerted effort to land Herrera if Guardiola takes charge.
The report suggests City see Herrera as the ideal man to add some their energy to their midfield.
However, it is thought they could face competition from Valencia with Gary Neville keen to make strengthen his squad.
Herrera will be hoping to start for United when they face Swansea tomorrow (3pm).
