Bastian Schweinsteiger has reportedly damaged is medial collateral ligament and will be a doubt for Liverpool, according to reports.
German newspaper Bild claim the 31-year-old has sprained the ligament and CT scans shows there is no serious long-term damage.
Although, the midfielder will miss tonight's game with Newcastle (7.45pm) and is a doubt for the trip to Anfield on January 17.
Manchester United made contact with Diego Simeone in 2014 to take over from David Moyes, claims agent Vincenzo Morabito.
"In the spring of 2014, United contacted me - they had chosen Simeone to take over from Moyes,” he told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
"He didn’t want any further speculation. United made an offer, which required a response within 10 days. Diego said no.”
Saul Niguez has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Manchester United, claiming he wants to stay at Atletico Madrid 'for life'.
"My biggest dream is to stay at Atletico Madrid for life,” he said
