MANCHESTER UNITED are facing an injury crisis and could dip into the transfer market before the end of the month.

Manchester United could move for new full-back this month

The deadline for transfers is 11pm January 1 leaving United a week to get their deals done.
Manager Louis van Gaal admitted the injury to Ashley Young - likely to be for the season - leaves United short in defence.
Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo are also out while Matteo Darmian left the pitch after an hour in the defeat to Southampton with a head injury.
But who could United turn to this week to solve their problem?
Bruno Martins Indi

Manchester United have been scouting Bruno Martins Indi this week

Bruno Martins Indi was watched on Saturday by United scouts and worked with Van Gaal while he was in charge of Holland.
He can play in the centre or at left-back and was linked with a move to United when Van Gaal first took over.
Instead he moved to Porto and helped them finish second in Portugal last term.
This season Porto are currently third and Martins Indi has been deployed mainly as a centre-back.
Ryan Bertrand

Ryan Bertrand has been impressive for Southampton

Ryan Bertrand has been impressive for Southampton since joining from Chelsea to replace Luke Shaw.
Bertrand has won seven England caps and could be in line for the Euros this summer with Shaw likely to still be injured.
Kieran Gibbs has lost his Arsenal place so Bertrand's big contender is Leighton Baines, who has only just returned to the Everton side after a lay-off.
While Saints would likely resist any offers having already lost Shaw to United he would be on their list of potential targets.
Ashley Cole

Ashley Cole has been released by Roma

Ashley Cole left Roma earlier this month and would be available on a free.
But the former England defender has hardly played over the last two years so to throw him right now would be a huge gamble.
Cole is likely to join LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer but United are reported to have an interest.
He would be free, but whether he's physically ready for another go in the Premier League is uncertain.
Jose Luis Gaya

Jose Luis Gaya has been on the radar since breaking into the Valencia side in 2012

Jose Luis Gaya has been on a number of Premier League club's radars for some time after breaking through at Valencia in 2012.
United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with moves but with Gary Neville struggling in La Liga United may be unsure about unsettling one of his top players.
Gaya, 20, is a Spain youth international but his size and stature would make him an obvious target for opponents.
At just 5 ft 7 and slim built he may struggle with the rigours of English football - particularly with United's current struggles this term.
Ricardo Rodriguez

Ricardo Rodriguez is reportedly the subject of a £20million bid

Ricardo Rodriguez of Wolfsburg is a set piece specialist and has been compared to Leighton Baines in the past.
At 23, with 33 Switzerland caps and having played in the Bundesliga for four years he would bring enough experience to slot in for Van Gaal.
He could also be a dangerous weapon going forward from dead balls.
The Sun reported that a £20million deal could be done this month but that Real Madrid were also interested.
