NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you the latest transfer news from Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp has revealed why he wants to sign Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk.
And the Liverpool boss admits the injury crisis at the club has accelerated his transfer plans.
Chelsea are also interested in the Brazilian but Liverpool made their move yesterday and are continuing talks.
“We could talk about a lot of players in the world and I could, if we had time for this, talk about the qualities they have," Klopp said.
He added: "The whole situation changed obviously. I think I always said if our situation changed then we had to change our opinion.
"The January window is not the best and if you are under pressure then everyone wants prices where you think 'Are they crazy?'
"If you take a new player now we have two days to the next game, four days to the next so it is not a perfect moment.
"We have to watch the market, to think about what makes sense for us now plus for the summer.
"If we find a solution which fits for both transfer windows, winter and summer, and a player could help us as quickly as possible then of course we would try.
"I have always said we will watch the market and we will see if something happens, there are a few days to go.
"Nothing has changed in my mind or opinion. It is a little bit different with Steven Caulker.
"If there is a good player and we see a longer option with time to work together and not only for three games and all the others come back then we would think about it.
"If it was possible we would try to do something what we would want to do in summer.
"With player prices I think we should ignore this but we think about it, that's all. It (thinking) didn't change."
Adam Lallana is a doubt for the Reds clash with Norwich tomorrow afternoon.
The England midfielder suffered a muscle problem against Manchester United last week and is back in training but remains a doubt.
"He had a little issue but we have to see, we have to wait until training today to see," Klopp said.
“It was a little bit of a muscle [problem] only in the Manchester United game. Afterwards he needed a little bit longer to recover and now we have to see if we have enough time to bring him back.
“I think that’s the only new one. From the others, no players are back.”
Robert Lewandowski's agent has said he is staying put.
The Poland star has been linked with a Premier League move following talk of Bayern considering new strikers for when Carlo Ancelotti replaces Pep Guardiola.
But agent Cezary Kucharski told French Sports publication L'Equipe: “We’re very happy at Bayern Munich. We’ll see what happens in the future, but I cannot tell you any more.
“For me, he’s the best number nine in the world. Everyone knows the price of the best players in their position, but I can’t give you a figure.
“I don’t think Bayern want to sell him and I don’t want to talk about his price, especially since the championship starts again in Germany on Friday.
“In football, you can never know what will happen. The most important thing is that he fights for the Champions League.”
