JURGEN KLOPP has jumped to the defence of Liverpool’s under-fire goalkeeper Simon Mignolet after their thrilling 3-3 draw with Arsenal last night.

Jurgen Klopp: This is what I think about Simon Mignolet's performance against Arsenal
Jurgen Klopp has backed Simon Mignolet to succeed at Liverpool

he Gunners came from behind twice in the first half with Mignolet beaten at his near post for both goals scored by Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud.
But Klopp does not blame Mignolet for either goal and instead points the finger firmly at Liverpool’s defence.

"For the second goal he needs help from all the players,” Klopp told BBC Sport.
“On a perfect day he can make a save but there were a lot of mistakes before. We have to defend this better."
The Gunners’ first goal came courtesy of a low Ramsey shot in the box that the 27-year-old Belgian couldn’t get down in time to prevent finding the net.

Arsenal’s second equaliser came when Ramsey’s corner at first appeared to have gone straight through Mignolet at his near post - tough for Liverpool fans to take after second choice keeper Adam Bogdan allowed a corner to go straight in during the 2-2 draw at Exeter in the FA Cup last Friday.
But on closer inspection it was a flick by Giroud that wrong footed Mignolet.
Klopp is consistently backing his number one and he can now look forward to his first clash with Manchester United as Liverpool boss on Sunday.
