JURGEN KLOPP must add to Liverpool's squad in January, claims club legend Mark Lawrenson.

Jurgen Klopp advised to make signings in January transfer window
Jurgen Klopp has been advised to add to his squad by Mark Lawrenson

The Reds have had a mixed start to life under Klopp, winning tough games against Chelsea and Manchester City but losing out to lesser teams like Watford and Newcastle.
Injuries have also taken their toll on the squad, with Daniel Sturridge still ruled out and important midfield dup Jordan Henderson and James Milner also missing.

And Lawrenson believes the former Borussia Dortmund coach needs to realise the rigours of the English game and had some quality reinforcements to the side.
"Klopp will certainly realise, if he hadn't already, that we play a lot of games in this country, probably too many," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"And while he is reticent to do business in the January transfer window, he may not be left with much choice.
"It could be he needs to dip into the market to bolster numbers, although he won't do it unless the incoming players improve the squad."

And Lawro also hopes any new signings will give Liverpool's existing players a boost - in particular key creative forces like Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana.
"Hopefully it will act as a kick up the backside for some of our creative players.
"Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and, yes, Philippe Coutinho all have talent, but it's no good having one outstanding game out of five - they need to be at least 7 out of 10 nearly every game."
