The 21-year-old joins the Swiss side from IFK Norrköping and seemingly paves the way for Arsenal to complete their move for Egyptian Mohamed Elneny.
Reports claim Elneny had a medical last week and is awaiting a work permit before sealing a £7.3m deal.
After beating Newcastle 1-0 at the Emirates yesterday, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was refused confirm a deal was close.
He said: I have nothing to say because he is not our player.
"We have not signed anybody and we are not imminently in a position where we can say we have signed somebody.
"We are out there to get someone but at the moment we haven’t signed anybody."
