Grujic, 19,  this week in a deal worth around £5.1million.
The midfielder had been a key member of Red Star's push for the Serbian championship.
But Reds manager Jurgen Klopp insisted he landed the signing this month to help ease his side's injury crisis.

“Klopp wanted me to join Liverpool immediately because they have injury problems, but I didn’t want to leave Red Star before we win the title,” Grujic told the Liverpool Echo.
“I guess they understand me, they put themselves in my position, and after the title with my beloved club, I will be full of confidence to have success in Liverpool.
“Klopp also told me to stay focused in the next six months, to watch out what I eat and not to rest more than two to three weeks after the season.
"Then we have the pre-season tour in America.”

Grujic could make his Liverpool debut against in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
The Merseyside club are 12 points behind table-toppers Arsenal with 18 games of the season remaining.
A win could see them rise as high as fifth if other results go their way in mid-week.
