GERMAN legend Lothar Matthaus believes Pep Guardiola is already planning on building a squad at Manchester City.
Guardiola has confirmed he will manage in the Premier League next season, with Chelsea, Manchester United and City all interested in hiring the 44-year-old Spaniard.
But Matthaus, who played more than 300 times for Bayern and won 150 caps for Germany, has accused Guardiola of never finding 'true love' with his players in Bavaria.
Bayern are top of the Bundesliga by eight points after 17 matches but Matthaus thinks the former Barcelona boss is already switching his focus to the Etihad, where he would replace Manuel Pellegrini - whatever the Chilean can achieve with City this season.
"Guardiola can say what he wants,' Matthaus wrote in Sport Bild. "The squad-planning for Manchester City is too important for him to have his head 100 per cent with Bayern Munich.
"That's a dangerous situation to be in.
"Guardiola will have five difficult months in Munich. There never was true love between Guardiola and the Bayern players."
Bayern are also through to the last 16 of the Champions League but face a tricky tie to reach the quarter-finals, with Juventus standing in their way.
They travel to VfL Bochum in the quarter-finals of the German Cup next month and Guardiola said recently, at a press conference in Munich, that he was fully committed to winning trophies with Bayern this season - despite admitting he was bound for England next season.
"I have several offers from England, but I haven't committed myself yet," he said. "When I have a new club, the club will communicate that. At the moment, nothing is fixed.
"If I were 60 or 65 I would have stayed but I think I am too young. I need a new challenge. It was a dream, it is a dream.
"I am very grateful to Bayern for this huge opportunity. I'm going to give the best to the last day."
