RAY WILKINS has cast doubt over Chelsea's chances of finishing in the top four.
After a disastrous start to the Premier League season under Jose Mourinho, the Blues are showing signs of a revival under Guus Hiddink.
They are unbeaten in three games since the Dutchman took charge and have begun their slow climb up the table, currently sitting in fourteenth place.
Following their 3-0 win against Crystal Palace this weekend, Hiddink was in good spirits and claimed the Blues could make up the deficit and reach the top four.
"There is a long way to go, mathematically the possibility of Champions League is still there," he said.
However, former assistant Wilkins thinks a top-four finish is beyond their grasp, although he does expect them to soar up the league.
"I don't think it is possible, personally, somewhere along the line there will come the odd defeat," he told talkSPORT.
"But they have been playing with a little bit more of a spirit - you could see that yesterday - and when they are firing they are one football team.
"I thought Chelsea were absolutely outstanding [at Crystal Palace]."
