Connor Wickham celebrates scoring against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium

The Crystal Palace striker has been out for over three weeks since suffering a calf strain in the 2-1 win at Stoke.
The £8million summer signing from Sunderland had to wait until the December game for his first Palace goal before limping out of it with 25 minutes to go.
But the Eagles’ assistant boss Keith Millen has revealed that Wickham has been back training for days and confirmed he will be in the squad to face beleaguered Villa.

And it could be a much-needed attacking boost for the club, who have drawn a blank in their last three Premier League games.
Millen said: “Connor Wickham has been back in training although he’s not fully match-fit. He will be in the squad.
“He’s going to train today and we’ll assess him. Medically he’s fine, he’s over his injury which is great news.
“He’s had not match time but he’s over his injury and we need our attacking players back because that’s what we’ve missed recently and that’s the main reason we’ve not been scoring goals.

Yohan Cabaye should be fit for the Aston Villa clash despite picking up an injury

“We need more people scoring goals, we’ve not scored enough goals throughout the squad.”
Millen also confirmed France midfielder Yohan Cabaye picked up a knock in Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup victory at Southampton.
But he reckons the Frenchman will be fine to face Villa, adding: “He should be ok for the game, he got a little knock.

“But Yannick Bolasie is definitely not back, he’s still out for a while. Dwight Gayle is certainly not either.”
