ASTON VILLA have loaned Jose Angel Crespo to Rayo Vallecano for the remainder of the season, the club have confirmed.
The 28-year-old arrived at Villa Park from Spanish team Cordoba last summer, signing a three-year deal.
However, the defender has failed to have much of an impact, making only one Premier League appearance this term - the 1-0 defeat to Stoke in October.
To get more playing time the full-back has opted to return to spain on a temporary basis with Rayo who are currently 18th in La Liga.
