ARSENAL have finally confirmed the signing of Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed after the 3-3 draw with Liverpool last night that Elneny had joined the club.

And Arsenal have now confirmed the Egyptian's signing, 'subject to the completion of regulatory processes'.

Elneny is expected to have cost in the region of £7.4million and could make his debut against Stoke on Sunday.
 
Wenger said: "Elneny will of course join us. He has joined us.

"We will see if he can qualify for Sunday."

Elneny spent three years with Swiss club Basel, making over 90 league appearances and winning three consecutive Super League titles.

This season the 23-year-old scored six goals in 28 games for Urs Fischer's side.

The Egyptian is still to complete his year of military conscription before he is 30, meaning he could be out of action for 12 months.

But Elneny was focused on celebrating his transfer by posting a video on Instagram with the caption: "Thanks Allah for everything @arsenal"
