ITALY boss Antonio Conte is the leading candidate for the Chelsea manager's job, according to reports.
Chelsea are looking for a long-term replacement for Jose Mourinho who was sacked in December after a poor start to the season.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich installed Guus Hiddink as his replacement, but he will leave the club end of the season.
Pep Guardiola, Jorge Sampaoli, Diego Simeone, Mark Hughes and Massimiliano Allegri have all been linked with the managers role at Stamford Bridge.
But according to the Daily Mail Conte has emerged as the leading candidate to be Mourinho's long-term replacement.
Conte is believed to have met with club officials before Christmas and is ready to leave the Italian national team to manage in England next season.
Talks are set to resume between Conte and Chelsea ahead of Euro 2016 in France.
He has told the Italian football federation he wants to return to club management after this summer’s tournament.
And he is ready for a new challenge outside of Italy, having previously won three Serie A titles in charge of Juventus.
Conte was on the shortlist to replace David Moyes as Manchester United boss in 2014 before Louis van Gaal took over at Old Trafford.
