GUUS HIDDINK knows winning the FA Cup a second time at Chelsea would help save a disastrous season at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss reveals FA Cup target with Champions League qualification 'difficult'
Hiddink lifted the FA Cup during his last spell as Chelsea manager

The 69-year-old took over from Luiz Felipe Scolari and guided the Blues through to an FA Cup final against Everton where goals from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard saw him pick up his first trophy in England.
Nevertheless the interim boss stepped down as Chelsea manager at the end of the season, and with the Premier League champions languishing in 14th place the Dutchman would be more than happy to walk away with a trophy in his hand once again.
"When I started we said we had to have some aims because at a big club you have to have some targets, and 4th place in the Premier League is difficult," Hiddink said.

"But then there are two targets left and one of them is the FA Cup and it’s a big target for this group of players.
"At that time [in 2009] it was the only silverware I won in this country.
"If you see the impact of the FA Cup worldwide and its huge tradition.

"When I was a young man I remember watching the FA Cup on this specific weekend.
"It’s a huge impact."
Chelsea face Scunthorpe on Saturday hoping to avoid a similar to last year when they were beaten 4-2 by Bradford City at Stamford Bridge.
And Hiddink, who marked out Scunthorpe's top-scorer Paddy Madden as a potential threat, knows that their four-match unbeaten run will mean nothing if it is broken by League One opposition.

"As you mentioned we are unbeaten four in a row which was okay and which wasn’t done in the past but it should be standard for a club like Chelsea," Hiddink added.
"I’m happy with the ‘restart’ of the team but for me the next step is very important.
"That’s why a win against a very difficult team like Crystal Palace was important. You have to have the follow up to that though."
