FITBIT has announced its first-ever smartwatch – the Blaze – during a press conference at the annual consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, dubbed CES.
Fitbit has debuted its first smartwatch, the Blaze.
This angular fashion-focused fitness tracker boasts a small 0.82inch colour LCD touchscreen display, which displays a range of customisable watch faces.
The Blaze is capable of handling all of the usual fitness tracking we've come to expect from the Fitbit range, including sleep, calories, steps and heart-rate.
Unfortunately there's no on-board GPS, so you'll have to keep your iPhone 4S or later, Android and Windows smartphones close when you go for a run.
Alongside these fitness features, the Blaze also bundles some smartwatch functionality – including the ability to change your music track, as well as see call, text and calendar notifications.
Fitbit claims its new wearable has a five-day battery life, considerably longer than the vast majority of other smartwatches on the market.
However unlike the Moto 360, Apple Watch or LG Watch Urbane, Fitbit wants you to wear the Blaze 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Bluetooth 4.0 wearable includes the ability to automatically detect when you've fallen asleep and monitor the quality of your kip.
Like the Apple Watch, Fitbit has also introduced a range of propriety bands and straps to change the style of its latest fitness wearable.
Amongst these are a £89.99 metal link band, a £59.99 leather strap and a cheaper £19.99 sport-focused elastomer band.
Meanwhile, the Fitbit smartwatch itself will set UK customers back £159.99.
Three colours are available at launch, including black, plum and blue. The Fitbit Blaze smartwatch is available to pre-order today in the UK, but there is no word on the ship date yet.
