Former Arsenal player Paul Merson believes Arsene Wenger could step down as Gunners boss in the summer to make way for Bayern Munich's Pep Guardiola.
He told Sky Sports: "I think Arsenal is a good fit for him, if I’m being honest.
"I thought Arsene Wenger might have looked at it and thought, ‘right, I’ve got a good chance of winning the league this year’.
"He could go out in a blaze of glory and win that. He’s done great for the club, and could say to the board ‘I’ve been around for a long time…this man fits the bill'."
Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has revealed talks with Wenger over the availability of out-of-favour defender Mathieu Debuchy.
The Frenchman said: "I had a conversation with Arsene Wenger two days ago about certain players, Debuchy was one of them.
