Arsenal have been dealt a crushing blow in their pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 26-year-old has been in electric form for Borussia Dortmund and this has not gone unnoticed with Manchester United and Liverpool also tracking his progress.
Recent reports have suggested that Arsenal stepped up their interest by lodging a £44.7million bid.

The speculation over Hazard's exit has prompted talk over who might come to Stamford Bridge, and according to The Sun, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could assume his place.
The report suggests that Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is contracted with Arsenal until 2018, is ready for a fresh challenge after failing to maintain a regular starting spot under Arsene Wenger.
Southampton will reportedly resist the Gunners' attempts to sign Victor Wanyama.
Wanyama tried to engineer a move away from St Mary's over the summer and Wenger is keen to add an experienced midfielder to his ranks.
But the Daily Mirror claim Saints won't listen to offers for Wanyama until the end of the season.
The Gunners have been informed that a £20m bid could be enough to secure Wanyama's services.
