Arsenal reveal why Mesut Ozil dropped for Stoke clash

MESUT OZIL misses the game against Stoke because of a 'slight foot injury', Arsenal have confirmed.

The German was not pictured in training yesterday alongside his team-mates, sparking concern over his fitness.

Rumours circled on social media suggesting the Premier League's top assister had picked up a knock.

And former Gunner's midfielder Ray Parlour jumped the gun, revealing the German international would be missing from the team sheet.

"Mesut Ozil out today big blow," he tweeted.

 

"Done so well been playing weeks with an injury which you don't see to often these days."

And Arsenal have now confirmed what every fan feared - the 27-year-old is out with a foot injury.

Although, the news may not mean a lengthy spell on the sidelines as the club called the injury 'slight'.
